Our mission is to always find the right balance between social, environmental, and economic objectives—so we can ensure the wellbeing and success of our customers, employees, and business partners, as well as the people at our sites.

Focal points of our sustainability program

Innovating products and technology

Having spent over 100 years working with molybdenum and tungsten, the Plansee Group never stops investing in improvements and enhancements to its products, technologies, and processes.

Material and resource efficiency

We use circular processes for materials wherever possible so we can cut back on mining new raw materials and minimize resource and energy consumption. This includes reusing, processing, and recycling our materials.

Responsibility in the supply chain

In addition to putting a supplier policy in place, we have laid the groundwork for implementing a strategic supplier management system and systematically assessing and developing suppliers in accordance with ESG criteria.

Great places to work

Our employees at the Plansee Group are the basis for the company's success around the world. Great places to work create a safe, healthy, diverse, and inclusive environment where teamwork, creativity, and productivity can flourish.

Our sustainability journey

We firmly believe that doing business sustainably is of vital importance not just to the environment and society, but also in the context of our company's long-term success. Our sustainability program links into our success story over the past 100 years and sets the course for a future that centers on

  • A high level of social responsibility for the people in our company and our supply chains
  • Efforts to establish material loops that will keep our valuable molybdenum and tungsten materials in circulation
  • The goal of making our energy-intensive processes climate neutral by 2030

As part of our group-wide sustainability program, our business areas have defined specific targets and initiatives with the aim of evolving their business models in line with market and customer needs:

  • Plansee wants to build on its position as a sustainability leader in the refractory metals industry and is using its innovative energy to help customers around the world achieve their sustainability targets.
  • CERATIZIT has set itself the goal of becoming the leading company in the field of sustainability in the carbide and cutting tools industry. Climate neutrality and circular economy are the main levers in these efforts.
