Since 1921, Plansee has been a place of research and development in powder metallurgy and since 1952 has been a regular meeting place for international science.

The regular Plansee Seminar has been a tradition in our company since 1952. Held every four years, it is one of the world's largest specialist powder metallurgy conferences for researchers, developers and users, providing the space for scientific discussions and an outlook on future applications for refractory metals, carbides, and hard materials. The 21st Plansee Seminar will take place from May 30 to June 6, 2025. Preparations are already underway.

The lectures and talks at the 21st Plansee Seminar will cover all market segments in which products based on refractory metals and carbides/hard materials play an important role or represent promising alternatives to current material solutions.

The following areas of application in particular will be covered by keynote speeches and/or verbal presentations and poster presentations:

  • Refractory metals and composites
  • P/M hard materials
  • Materials
  • Production of refractory metal powders
  • Powder and P/M processes
  • Surface technology and coating
  • Simulation and modeling
  • Characterization and testing
  • Sustainability
