Strong Sponsor for Bobsleigh
Sport Contest Enables Exclusive Guest Bobsleigh Ride
Breitenwang/Reutte, 05.04.2024 – The Plansee Group supports women's bobsleigh in Tyrol on their way to the 2026 Olympics. Together with the athletes, the company initiated an adrenaline-pumping contest for its employees and sent two of them down the ice track.
In a bobsleigh at speeds of up to 130 km/h through the ice track: Lea Haslwanter (a student training to be a primary school teacher) and Ina Kannenberg (a machining technician at Plansee in Reutte) represent one of two women's teams in Austrian bobsleigh. The two women share a passion for speed and the pursuit of excellence. With intensive training, a lot of ambition, and motivation, the two women are pursuing one goal: participation in the 2026 Olympic Games. To bring them one step closer to this goal, the Plansee Group supports the Haslwanter bobsleigh team as a strong sponsor.
Contest for Employees
Thanks to the partnership between the Plansee Group and the bobsleigh team, employees of the Plansee Group had the opportunity to participate in an internal contest and experience an exciting guest bobsleigh ride in Innsbruck/Igls. After the draw, Stefanie Schmidt, a CAD designer in product marketing, and Klaus Lupfer, a Product Life Cycle Manager (both at CERATIZIT), were the lucky winners.
Thrill in the Ice Track
On March 3rd, the time had come: Before the start, the winners and their accompanying person, who spontaneously also got to ride in the bobsleigh, received a detailed briefing and were able to ask questions to Lea Haslwanter and Linda Braun, who was the pusher for the bobsleigh. Full of anticipation, Stefanie Schmidt and Klaus Lupfer ventured into the four-man bobsleigh and embarked on the short but rapid ride through the ice track. "The ride was really cool! Thank you very much for this experience," said Stefanie with a beaming smile after the ride. Klaus, who was amazed by the speed in the ice track, said: "The first two curves were still comfortable, but then with over 100 km/h through the Kreisel and the Labyrinth, it got the pulse racing. That was extraordinary!" This adventure will surely remain a long-lasting memory for both of them.
