We have been shaping the future of winter mobility since the 1960s, when we began manufacturing hardmetal studs for winter tyres. GTP Finland Oy—formerly known as Tikomet Oy—was founded in 1994 with a pioneering vision: to produce recycled hardmetal powder as a sustainable raw material for tyre studs.
In 2015, GTP Finland became part of Global Tungsten & Powders and, consequently, the Plansee Group—further strengthening our global reach and expertise. Today, GTP Finland Oy is a recognized specialist in hardmetal recycling. We transform used hardmetal tools into high-quality recycled powder using the zinc process. By doing so, we help conserve natural resources and reduce environmental impact.
For us, the circular economy is more than a concept—it is at the core of everything we do. Recycling hardmetal is our expertise, and sustainability is our commitment. We actively promote the use of recycled tungsten-based materials, contributing to a more resource-efficient and responsible future.
