"My Fun at Work, I Want to Pass on to You"
Breitenwang/Reutte, September 6, 2023 – 37 lively young people were the main protagonists of this year's start of apprenticeships at the Plansee Group at the Reutte/Breitenwang site. They began their apprenticeships on September 4 to successfully guide the company into the future as future skilled workers. The site was once again able to fill all its training positions.
"You have already made the first right decision," began Joachim Resch, Head of Vocational Training and Continuing Education, in his welcome speech, "to start your training at the Plansee Group today." An international high-tech company that values its apprentices highly, with state-of-the-art infrastructure and its own vocational school: the Plansee Group can offer them a lot. Numerous industries, including the automotive industry, aerospace, and the semiconductor industry, rely on the expertise and material solutions of the two company divisions Plansee High Performance Materials and Ceratizit. The Plansee Group trains apprentices in five technical professions for them. Motivation, commitment, and focus are what the 12-member training team expects in return from the 37 young men and women who are starting their apprenticeships in metal, materials, laboratory, and electrical engineering this year. They were warmly welcomed on their first day with applause from the board, executives, works council, parents, and other apprentices.
Preparing for an Educational Time
As a frequent guest at the training center, Ulrich Lausecker, in his dual role as a member of the Plansee Group's Executive Board and Managing Director of Plansee SE, expressed his excitement for the new apprentices. Even after many years with the company, he is still impressed and proud when looking at the group: the new apprentices will now be an important part of it. "The Plansee Group puts a lot of effort, energy, and work into training," said Simon Jost, Managing Director of Ceratizit Austria, which can be seen especially in the newly designed facilities of the training center and vocational school. Like all the speakers before him, Helmut Lorenz, Chairman of the Workers' Council, emphasized the importance of cohesion and teamwork among the apprentices. The support of the entire company is assured to them, they all concluded.
Professional and Personal Development
At the event, Bruno Dengg, who had shaped the company's vocational school as principal for ten years, was also bid farewell. His successor, Stefan Schlichtherle, then explained the school system. In addition to the training workshop, school, and departmental rotation, the Plansee Group offers its apprentices plenty of room for personal development: joint hiking days, excursions, or seminars on communication, teamwork, and more round out the offer.
"My fun at work, I want to pass on to you," said trainer Heike Hosp during her introduction. This intention was also reflected in the rest of the first week's program: during a scavenger hunt on the company premises, the aspiring skilled workers got to know their new environment better.
