POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales Engineer role is to present and sell our extensive line of superior, high-quality cutting tools that include engineered tools, precision drilling, bore machining, reaming, threading and milling solutions. Success requires sales expertise through end user customers, integrator and channel partners in a defined geographic territory. The Sales Engineer will possess significant aerospace industry experience and will spend a portion of their time working from our Chatsworth, CA facility to learn CERATIZIT's internal processes, operational practices, product offerings, and customer base.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent CERATIZIT in a regional territory to establish and develop distributor channel partners and end user customer relationships.
- Target, prospect, qualify, and secure new end user customer accounts.
- Manage, retain, and saturate current end user customers and channel partner accounts through application recommendations and demonstrations.
- Partner with Integrated Suppliers to develop strategies to grow the business.
- Obtain specifications and blueprints and collaborate with engineering for quotations and problem resolution.
- Support part run-off operations including logistical support, technical support, troubleshooting, quality management, and error proofing.
- Work periodically from the Chatsworth, CA facility to gain a comprehensive understanding of company operations, processes, products, and customer requirements.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to learn best practices, strengthen customer support capabilities, and enhance market knowledge.
- Document, track, and follow up on proposed solutions, tool testing, and cost analysis.
- Conduct training for operators, engineering, and management on CERATIZIT products.
- Develop sales and business plans and collaborate with channel partners.
- Achieve defined sales goals and quota.
- Investigate warranty claims.
- Maintain reports, CRM data, and planning tools
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s Degree (BSME) or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with a large manufacturing facility.
• 5-10 years successful regional or territory sales experience.
• Ability to make product recommendations based on customer feedback and quality constraints.
• Familiar with cutting tool design relating to reaming, holemaking, threading, and milling.
• Ability to calculate speeds and feeds.
• Ability to troubleshoot and identify cutting tool problems.
• Strong technical aptitude specifically within technical sales, application engineering, or aerospace sector
• Experience working independently from a home or virtual office.
• Strong business development skills specifically within the aerospace division
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CRM software, and related technologies.
• Quality systems experience in CPK, PPK, and PPAP.
• Strong mathematical skills.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
50% to 60% travel / overnight stays required – valid Driver’s License required.
