Position type: Hourly
Plansee USA is looking for an experienced CNC Milling Machinist for 1st Shift: Monday - Friday; 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
Studies work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Operates computer-controlled milling machinery including set-up and program editing with ability to produce advanced routine/non-routine parts and components.
Perform machining operations on a variety of CNC milling machines including multiple setups, in place machining of fixtures and debugging first run programs.
Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures and cutting tools using hand tools and tool length off-set equipment.
Perform work-piece in-process inspection by checking accuracy of work against blue prints/specifications using advanced gaging techniques for product conformity.
Collaborate with machinists, planners, programmers and engineers to evaluate needs, troubleshoot problems, and recommend solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED. 5 to 7 years’ machining experience in a manufacturing production environment. CNC Machinist Level 3 or 4 Machine types Kiwa and Okuma. Fanuc and Okuma controls.
Ability to set- up and operate Horizontal and Vertical, 5 - Axis CNC machines.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
High level proficiency in reading and interpreting machining and fabrication drawings.
Solid math, geometry and trigonometry skills and understanding GD&T.
Fluent in using all types of measuring equipment form hand tools to CMM and Optical comparators.
Ability to read and understand G and M codes.
Ability to perform simple program edits as needed.
Must be able to set up complex jobs using work instructions or guides.
Strong attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
