Position type: Hourly

 

Enhance your skillset with both classroom and hands-on applications focused on Machining in this structured in-house training program. Upon completion of the program, you will be able to set up, operate, and have the ability to edit G and M code for CNC machines. This full-time opportunity in the training program will begin on September 8th.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains optimal attendance, a positive attitude and prepared to learn.
  • Completes classroom work in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Strives to gain deep knowledge of CNC Machining.
  • Applies classroom learning and self-study while training on the shop floor.
  • Work from procedures and prescribed operation sequences to achieve parts per print and quality specification.
  • Perform hand rework functions such as deburring, polishing, and part cleaning.
  • Operate water-based part cleaning equipment to clean parts.
  • Return tool crib items to stock and perform tool crib cycle counts.
  • Clean-up and maintenance of equipment and classroom as needed.
  • Perform material reclaim functions.
  • Understands company goals; and provides quality work and continued improvement in reaching KPIs.
  • Ensures equipment is utilized for intended use.
  • Practices optimal safety and 6S measures.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Must have a mechanical aptitude.
  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • Strong math skills required.
  • 0 to 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and meet assigned deadlines.
  • High degree of responsibility, punctuality, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to read blueprints preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work with hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of operating CNC machines preferred but not required.
  • Experience with set up and operation of conventional machine tools such as engine lathes, manual mills, surface grinders, and other related conventional machines preferred but not required.
  • Use of precision measuring instruments (ie. Indicators, micrometers, calipers, height gauge) and other tools associated with the machine tool trade.
