The Sales Associate supports customers across aerospace, defense, medical, electronics, energy, and manufacturing sectors by helping them identify the right tungsten, molybdenum, and refractory‑metal solutions for their applications. The role blends technical understanding with relationship‑driven sales, ensuring customers receive high‑quality products, responsive service, and expert guidance. Mi‑Tech Tungsten Metals emphasizes high‑density tungsten alloys, tungsten copper/silver composites, and U.S.-based manufacturing, while Plansee is a global leader in refractory metals, precision components, and custom-engineered solutions. This position helps customers navigate both portfolios.

Requirements:

• Serve as an internal resource of customers in aerospace, defense, medical, electronics, coating technology, and industrial manufacturing sectors.

• Understand customer requirements and translate them into material, alloy, or component recommendations.

• Build long-term relationships by providing responsive, knowledgeable, and solutions-oriented service.

• Manage inbound inquiries, quotes, and follow-ups with professionalism and urgency

• Develop a working knowledge of tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, and composite materials, including their performance characteristics, applications, and manufacturing processes.

• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure feasibility, lead times, and technical accuracy.

• Prepare quotes, proposals, and order documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Maintain CRM records, track opportunities, and support forecasting activities.

• Coordinate with logistics and production scheduling to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

• Support trade shows, customer visits, and virtual product demonstrations.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years’ work experience in customer service with High School Diploma/GED, or Bachelor’s degree in a business/marketing or related field is a Plus or bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or related science.

• Experience in B2B sales or customer support—preferably in metals, materials science, manufacturing, or industrial components.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• A strong attention to detail.

• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks

• The ability to work independently.

• The ability to work after hours when required.

• The ability to communicate effectively.

• Competency in Microsoft applications including word, excel, and outlook.

• Willingness to travel, domestically and internationally.

• Ability to meet requirements to work on ITAR and export control restricted projects.

• Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment

• Experience supporting customers in aerospace, defense, medical, electronics, or energy sectors. – Preferred

• Familiarity with tungsten, molybdenum, or other refractory metals and/or their industrial applications. - Preferred

• Ability to read technical drawings or specifications – Preferred
