Strong foundation for the future

Start of apprenticeship in 2025 at the Plansee Group in Reutte

With applause and warm words, 27 new apprentices were welcomed to the Plansee Group in Breitenwang/Reutte as they embarked on a new chapter in their lives.

“We will accompany you every step of the way during your training—but you have to walk this path yourself,” said Joachim Resch, Head of Vocational Training and Continuing Education, in his welcome speech. He compared the apprenticeship to climbing a mountain: challenging, but rewarding.

The new apprentices are now starting their training in the fields of metal, materials, laboratory and electrical engineering. To ensure that they can all successfully celebrate their apprenticeship completion as skilled workers after three to four years, the Plansee Group continuously invests in their training – from the modern training center and the vocational school with a dedicated team of trainers and teachers to personality development seminars and joint activities. At the same time, it is crucial that the apprentices themselves are motivated and curious. “We don't expect them to know everything from the start, but they must demonstrate a strong willingness to learn,” emphasized Resch.
The success of this training concept is demonstrated by outstanding achievements in competitions such as TyrolSkills and the award as an “Excellent Tyrolean Training Company.”

Welcome to the family

Ulrich Lausecker, member of the Plansee Group's Executive Board, warmly welcomed the new apprentices: “From now on, you will be playing in the Champions League and helping our customers shape the future. Welcome to the Plansee family—we are all behind you.” In his speech, Lausecker emphasized, among other things, the importance of occupational safety in the company. Every employee must return home healthy and safe after work.

Helmut Lorenz, representative of the works council, also emphasized the strong support that apprenticeships receive throughout the company. He appealed to the apprentices to actively cultivate a spirit of cooperation and to be there for each other in times of success as well as in challenging moments: “The best experiences in life are shared.”

Training as a factor for success

Since the company was founded over 100 years ago, more than 2,200 apprentices have been trained in Breitenwang/Reutte – a cornerstone of the international success of the Plansee Group and its business areas Plansee and Ceratizit. One thing became clear: At the Plansee Group, training focuses not only on outstanding professional qualifications, but also on the personal development of each individual.
