Strong Commitment to Sustainability: Platinum for Plansee HPM and CERATIZIT
Plansee Group Among the Top Companies Worldwide
The Plansee Group is reinforcing its leading position in sustainable corporate management: Both of its business areas – CERATIZIT and Plansee HPM – were awarded the Platinum medal by EcoVadis in 2025, the highest recognition from the world-renowned sustainability rating agency.
This ranks the companies among the top 1% of more than 150,000 companies assessed globally. EcoVadis evaluates companies based on criteria in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The Platinum medals confirm the high quality and maturity of the Plansee Group’s sustainability program, emphasizing its commitment to transparency, responsibility, and long-term sustainable business practices.
CERATIZIT: Platinum and Validated Targets
The CERATIZIT business area, specializing in carbide tools, received the Platinum medal for the first time in 2025, standing out particularly for its integrated sustainability management and ambitious greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals. These near-term, long-term, and net-zero science-based targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2025.
“The Platinum rating shows what we can achieve together as a company when sustainability is part of our everyday work,” said Karlheinz Wex, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Plansee Group.
Plansee HPM: Highest Rating Already in Second Assessment
The Plansee HPM business area, which specializes in tungsten and molybdenum metals, was recognized with EcoVadis Platinum just one year after its first participation. This recognition was based on structured, sustainability-focused processes and continuous improvements – from reducing greenhouse gas emissions through renewable energy and hydrogen from electrolysis to responsible sourcing and high compliance standards.
“The Platinum medal confirms our path to develop even more sustainable solutions together with our customers,” said Karlheinz Wex.
A Strong Signal from the Entire Group
With these Platinum medals, the group, which specializes in high-tech materials and high-performance tools, is sending a clear message – to customers, business partners, employees, and the industry as a whole: Sustainability is not just a goal, but a lived reality, a strategic success factor, and an essential requirement in global value chains.
