The 21st Plansee Seminar 2025
Preparations for the 21st Plansee Seminar in the first week of June 2025 are in full swing.
One of the world's largest powder metallurgy conferences focusing on refractory and hard metals will take place at the headquarters of the Plansee Group in Reutte, Austria.
More than 280 researchers and scientists have submitted proposals for lectures and poster presentations – a number that exceeded the organizers' expectations. The scientific committee, which reviews and evaluates these proposals, includes leading experts from the world of hard and refractory metals.
New in the program: "Student Dinner"
The opening event will take place on Monday morning, with welcoming remarks from the CEO of the Plansee Group, Karlheinz Wex, and organizer Heinrich Kestler. The three keynote speeches will be given by Andreas Feichtinger from Plansee on the future of refractory metals, Prof. Dr. Xiaoyan Song from Beijing University of Technology on the future of hard metals with a focus on China, and Erich Gatterer from Andritz AG on the topic of "Artificial Intelligence in Industry."
On Tuesday evening, the "Long Night of Posters" is planned: This format allows all participants to exchange scientific topics in a convivial atmosphere with finger food and drinks and to expand their scientific network.
New in the program is the "Student Dinner," to which the Plansee Group invites all participating students and doctoral candidates. At the traditional gala night on Thursday, guests can expect a varied evening of culinary delights, acrobatics, and magic. Accompanying persons can also look forward to a colorful program in the pre-Alpine region between Neuschwanstein and Innsbruck.
