Position Summary

The Environmental Lab Intern will support day‑to‑day operations within the environmental laboratory by performing routine equipment verification, preparing samples for analysis, assisting with quality checks, and contributing to method development. This internship provides hands-on experience in an analytical lab setting and is ideal for students seeking practical exposure to environmental testing and laboratory procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration verifications on balances and pipettes.
  • Conduct and document quality control checks to support laboratory quality assurance.
  • Assist with sample preparation following established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Support sample reporting, including accurate data entry and documentation.
  • Contribute to method development activities, such as testing, documentation, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with lab staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to lab standards.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Available for the full 3–6‑month internship assignment (6 months preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Must have the legal right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or restrictions.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and experience working with databases.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams to deliver project results on time.
