Position type: Exempt

The human resources director will manage HR operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, The HR director promotes and implements human resource values by planning and managing human resources programs and directing staff training, counseling, and disciplining staff. The human resources director will also take the lead in developing organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues.


Responsibilities:

 
•    Manage the entire H.R. function at Mi-Tech Tungsten Metals, Inc. (MTTM).    
•    Establishes and maintains contact with management, vendors, employees and/or prospective employees regarding implementation, maintenance and evaluation of the Human Resources function.  
•    Conveys or interprets written Human Resource policies, practices and procedures to employees and managers.    
•    Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.  
•    Interacts on a regular basis with a variety of organizations outside the Company, e.g., associations, vendors, etc. for the purpose of informing, coordinating, requesting information and/or assistance.  
•    Maintains appropriate records in support of function. Maintains and prepares required data/statistics for a variety of departmental, and/or Company reports where errors could significantly affect the decision-making process or posture of the Company. 
•    Compiles data for local, national, industry or community surveys of functional area.  
•    Keeps apprised of internal and external developments affecting HR; makes recommendations to management regarding HR matters.  
•    Benefits - Participates in and analyzes benefit surveys; researches, analyzes and participates in the development/design and administration of the organization’s benefits plans and programs; develops employee communications; conducts enrollments, maintains individual employee benefit records; and processes employee benefit forms/requests. Interprets coverage.  May assist in the research involving costing and negotiating vendor/carrier contracts.  
•    Compensation - Performs job analysis; writes job descriptions; evaluates positions; participates in and analyzes market pay and compensation practices; develops pricing/pay structures and budgets; administers pay for performance, adjustments and/or other base and incentive compensation programs for new hires and continuing employees.  
•    Employee Relations - Provides counseling to employees and supervisors; seeks to resolve employee grievances and complaints and to provide guidance on performance and disciplinary issues; conducts exit interviews, orientations etc.; develops and analyzes results of employee surveys. Assists in carrying out Affirmative Action Programs and Equal Employment Opportunity Programs; audits internal practices; compiles and prepares statistical reports, investigates and resolves discrimination complaints/problems, identifies/facilitates use of minority community resources. 
•    Staffing/Recruitment - Research job qualifications/hiring department needs; develop recruiting strategy, identifies sources for candidates, initiates ads, job fairs, agency contacts, etc.; screens resumes/applications; interviews applicants; checks references; conducts employment tests and determines general suitability for employment.  
•    Personnel Administration - Human Resource Information System report generation and personnel action processing. Maintains employee records.  
•    Learning and Development - Analyzes training and development needs and prepares special courses and related documentation/training materials. Identifies outside sources/vendors. Conducts and coordinates training classes and/or programs. Evaluates course/program effectiveness. Administers tuition assistance program. May provide organizational development expertise/consulting. 

Qualifications:


•    High school diploma or GED equivalent
•    Related experience in a manufacturing environment


Preferred Qualifications:


•    A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.  
•    Professional certification in HR area(s) of specialization preferred but not required.  
•    3-5 years of progressively responsible related Human Resource experience in functional specialty, preferably in a professional/technical services environment.
