Position Overview: Plans, schedules, and supervises the work of skilled craft and general maintenance workers in the inspection, maintenance, and repair and servicing of plant equipment and/or building/facilities to prevent disruption of the manufacturing process. Ensures safety codes and standards are maintained. Plans, schedules, and supervises the work of plant services personnel, in the storage and distribution of plant chemicals, WWT, H2 recovery and Ammonia stripper.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of one shift of maintenance and plant services. Plans the daily work activities of the groups.
- Audits performance and quality of activities and projects performed by staff and private contractors. Schedules repairs, downtime, and preventative maintenance of the equipment within the areas of responsibility.
- Provides services (Maintenance and Plant Services) coverage for holiday and weekend times. Provide coverage for Plant Foreman as needed. Gathers and analyzes pertinent data to minimize operating costs, downtime and repair costs.
- Trains new maintenance and plant services personnel in safe and proper work practices. Prepares and maintains JL and JS specifications relating to all maintenance and plant services activities. Makes certain that personnel under his or her supervision understand and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety and environmental standards and requirements.
- Ensures proper documentation for PM processes are filled out and returned. Approves and schedules employee’s timecards, schedules and vacations. Provide shift leadership within the maintenance and plant services groups for their shift. Relay and support safety, environmental, discipline policies, decisions, culture and work environments proscribed by management. Communication of pertinent issues, data, and circumstances to and from the shifts adjacent.
Preferred Education and Requirements:
- Minimum High School Diploma; Associate Degree in a technical discipline preferred
- 7-10 years of related maintenance and or plant services experience
- Proven history of leadership and safe work culture.
