Position type: Hourly

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches and work specifications to perform layout, measure and mark dimensions on material.
  • Set up and operate metalworking equipment such as shears, brakes, punch press, drill press, and CNC machines to cut, bend, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal (tourch experience).
  • Make programs and/or program edits as necessary to improve processes and productivity.
  • Ensure parts are in conformance to specifications and adhering to ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100 standards.
  • Serve as a cross functional team member in performing other operations such as riveting, shearing, rolling, deburring, cutting and assembly.
  • Document actions by completing production routers.
  • Perform routine maintenance on fabrication equipment (i.e., add chemicals, keeping machine and work area clean, ensuring parts are not broken, etc.).
  • Maintain safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma/GED, technical trade school training or equivalent work experience.
  • Five to seven years of sheet metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures involving metalwork equipment. 
  • Fluency with machine controls.
  • Strong competency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Solid shop math skills and understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensions & tolerance).
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools and work with precision measuring devices.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as required by production demands.
