Position type: ExemptUtilizing powder metallurgy expertise, focuses on continuous improvement of raw materials and processes. Job duties include material analysis and testing, troubleshooting, and monitoring process performance, ensuring quality control, and creating and maintaining process related documentation.
Requirements:
Determine causes of product failure and develop methods of overcoming such failures. Shall include internal nonconformances and customer returns.
Technical resource to the Furnace, Press, and in powder metallurgy in Powder Preparation Departments.
Keep current with metallurgical investigative techniques and processes.
Maintain metallurgical lab equipment and supplies.
Provide technical support to the Quality department with evaluations of industry test standards and equipment.
Evaluate, and recommend outside processors related to NDT and material enhancements.
Liaising with suppliers and customers to provide technical advice on the suitability of materials.
Maintain memberships with industry associations (ASTM, ASM, MPIF, etc.).
Assist with cost estimates as needed, including the build of new part files.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science Engineering or related field.
3 years’ experience in a powder metallurgy manufacturing environment.
Related course work in powder materials.
Internship in a manufacturing environment.
